The setting is "wall street" This is significant because wall street started trading slaves and that the same way Bartleby feel he feel because he works there , he is expected to do whatever the boss says ; just like back in time when the boss were masters and the workers were slaves.Turkey and Nippers have nick names , and the boss name is never mention also Bartleby's frist name is never mention either this is because they are trying to disguise something,also maybe the characters identities were not to be given to the public.
